In the News: Allegheny County aiming to create Veteran's Court

In light of the special circumstances that surround veterans who are charged with crimes, judges in Allegheny County are in the process of creating a special court for veterans. Judge Michael E. McCarthy said, "This would help veterans who have suffered difficulties due to their military service." The court would be similar to Allegheny County's current Mental Health Court. The county hopes to have the veteran's court operating by June 2009.
